Working Together for Our Children and Families
At Thatcham Park, we believe that children flourish when schools, families and communities work together.
Our Christian vision encourages us to "build each other up" and this shapes the way we work with others. We are proud to be part of a supportive local community and to work alongside many organisations that help enrich children's experiences, support families and strengthen opportunities for everyone to thrive.
Supporting Families
We know that family life can sometimes be challenging and we are committed to ensuring that families feel supported, listened to and valued.
Our pastoral team works closely with a range of services to help children and families access the support they need. Whether this is practical help, emotional support or guidance from specialist services, we work hard to ensure that families never feel alone.
Strong relationships are at the heart of what we do. We value regular communication with families and believe that by working together we can help every child thrive both in school and beyond.
Our Church Partnerships
As a Church of England school, our links with local churches are an important part of school life.
We enjoy strong partnerships with St Barnabas Church and St Mary's Church. Pupils regularly take part in church services, celebrations and community events, while local clergy support worship and school life throughout the year. These experiences help children explore faith, values and spirituality in a welcoming and inclusive way.
Our partnership with the Oxford Diocesan Board of Education also supports the ongoing development of staff, governors and the wider life of the school.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Children learn best when they are given opportunities to experience the world around them.
Our partnerships with organisations such as Ufton Court, Berkshire Music Trust and the Education Business Partnership help bring learning to life. Through workshops, residential visits, performances and enrichment activities, pupils develop confidence, curiosity and aspirations for the future.
These opportunities help children discover new interests, develop valuable life skills and create lasting memories.
Making a Difference
We want our pupils to understand that they can make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Throughout the year, children support a range of community initiatives and charitable causes. Our Harvest collection supports West Berkshire Foodbank, while other projects encourage children to think about fairness, responsibility and caring for those around them.
Pupils also take part in a monthly dementia-friendly worship group with members of the local community. These visits help children develop empathy, confidence and a deeper understanding of the importance of kindness, service and belonging.
Part of Something Bigger
We are proud of the strong relationships that exist between our school and the wider community.
Through our partnerships, children learn that they are part of something bigger than themselves. They see first-hand how people can work together, support one another and make a positive difference. These experiences help nurture the values of respect, compassion, responsibility and community that are at the heart of life at Thatcham Park.
